Responsibility

At Tuttelu, accountability is not a promise of perfection, but a way to make more conscious choices.

We produce disposable diapers, and this inevitably means a burden on the environment. However, that does not change the fact that we have a responsibility to reduce this burden where possible – and to be open about the choices we make along the way.

For us, responsibility is not about big words, but about action. About asking questions, taking a stand and constantly seeking solutions that make sense for both the baby's skin, functionality and the resources we use. It's a journey without an end point, driven by the desire to do a little better than yesterday.

Natural materials and gentleness

We choose materials that feel natural against the skin. At the heart of our design is bamboo – a gift from nature that is naturally soft, breathable and gentle. By replacing large parts of traditional plastic with bamboo fibres, we create a diaper that lets the skin breathe and reduces the footprint on the planet. It’s purity you can feel.

More bamboo – less plastic

When we chose to use bamboo in our diapers, it is not to follow a trend, but because the material makes sense in this particular product. Bamboo is a fast-growing raw material that can be grown without intensive use of irrigation and pesticides, often requiring fewer resources than traditional alternatives. For us, this is an important starting point – not because it makes the product perfect, but because it reduces the burden.

In our designs, we use bamboo where the material's natural properties make the biggest difference: in the layers that are in close and prolonged contact with the child's skin.

Here, bamboo fibers contribute to a soft and breathable surface with high absorbency, which also has natural antibacterial properties. This provides pleasant comfort for delicate baby skin without the need for unnecessary treatments.

However, we are aware that bamboo cannot stand alone. Our products are not plastic-free, as certain functional requirements for hygiene and leak protection still make the use of other materials necessary. Our approach is therefore simple: We significantly reduce plastic consumption where we can, and are honest about where it is not yet possible to find better alternatives. For us, responsibility is about choosing the materials that make the most sense for both the child and the resources.

Packaging with care

When you receive a pack of diapers from Tuttelu, the first thing you notice is the tactile and matte paper. We have deliberately chosen to present our products in packaging that is not only visually calm and beautiful to have on display in your home, but also reflects our deep respect for nature. Today, our packaging is made of 50% recyclable paper, and we are working towards 2026, when we will increase this share by 82%.

We see it as our highest priority to continuously optimize every aspect of our production. It’s about making thoughtful choices that protect the planet, without ever compromising on what’s most important: unrivaled quality and your baby’s delicate skin. By combining an aesthetic exterior with a responsible core, we prove that thoughtfulness and beautiful design can easily go hand in hand. These may be small steps in the big picture, but they are steps that matter for the world our children grow up in.

Production and the way forward

We are constantly working to optimize our production using modern technology, with a focus on reducing water consumption, material waste and plastic content where possible. At the same time, we prioritize solutions that take into account both function, comfort and resources – even when it requires more consideration.

One step at a time

For us, responsibility is about progress, not perfection. It's about taking responsibility for the world our children grow up in – and continuing to make it a little better.

But we are driven by the will to constantly become smarter and make more responsible decisions – one step at a time, one diaper at a time.
